People who reside in informal or unplanned settlements face limited opportunity to improve their economic livelihoods. To grow and prosper, residents need their property rights legitimized by being officially included in the country’s legal system.  MEDEEM has been working to regularize large numbers of these unplanned settlements across Zambia.  In each settlement area, all parcels are mapped and resident’s biographical data is collected and integrated into the Government of Zambia’s GIS.
