CHIKANTA, ZAMBIA, NOVEMBER, 2015
In Zambia’s traditional areas, MEDEEM Zambia’s process simultaneously organizes the land inventory for the Chief as well as generates a foundation of land tenure security for his/her subjects. By documenting individuals interests in the land, a comprehensive land registry is created, allowing the chief to maintain better records of his/her holdings, manage the land more effectively, engage more readily with prospective donors for development purposes, and employ smart land-use planning practices that meet the needs of his/her subjects. See videos of public ceremony in Chikanta with remarks from Chief Chikanta and Medeem representative, Roslyn Warren.
